Dr.Soil Universal Organic Fertiliser — Liquid, 1 L

A complete liquid organic fertiliser formulated for all plant types — combining hydrolysed proteins, potassium salts, magnesium sulphate, and potassium sulphate into a balanced, water-soluble nutrition solution suitable for indoor plants, garden beds, containers, and edible crops alike. pH 6.0. Supplied in a bottle made from ISCC PLUS certified plastic — free from fossil petroleum content.

How It Is Formulated

Dr.Soil Universal Organic Fertiliser is a liquid concentrate built on a foundation of hydrolysed proteins — plant-derived proteins broken down enzymatically into their constituent amino acids. These amino acids are the direct building blocks of all plant proteins and enzymes, and unlike mineral nitrogen sources, they are absorbed directly through both roots and leaf surfaces without requiring further microbial conversion. This gives the fertiliser an immediacy and gentleness that mineral fertilisers cannot combine: fast-acting yet incapable of burning, because the nitrogen is organic rather than ionic.

To the amino acid base, the formulation adds magnesium sulphate — the direct mineral source of magnesium, the central atom in the chlorophyll molecule, and sulphur, essential for amino acid and enzyme synthesis — alongside potassium sulphate and potassium salts providing a dual potassium contribution. Potassium is the mineral that governs the opening and closing of stomata, water use efficiency, the movement of sugars from leaves to growing points, and the overall structural integrity of the plant. At the balanced pH of 6.0, all active components are in their most bioavailable forms for the widest range of plant species.

About the ISCC PLUS Certified Bottle

The bottle containing Dr.Soil Universal Organic Fertiliser is produced from plastic certified to the ISCC PLUS standard (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification). This certification guarantees, through independent audit and full chain-of-custody traceability, that the plastic is produced from renewable or recycled feedstocks rather than fossil petroleum. It contains no virgin fossil-derived plastic content. ISCC PLUS is the most rigorous and widely recognised sustainability certification for plastic materials in the European market.

How It Works

Dr.Soil Universal Organic Fertiliser works through two simultaneous mechanisms that together provide both immediate and sustained nutritional support:

  • Direct amino acid absorption — free amino acids from the hydrolysed protein fraction are absorbed directly by root cells and leaf surfaces without requiring microbial mediation. This provides nutrition within hours of application, supporting active growth periods when demand is highest.
  • Soil biology stimulation — the organic compounds in the formula stimulate the microbial community in the growing medium, accelerating the natural nutrient cycling that converts organic matter into plant-available forms. Each application improves the long-term biological health of the root environment, not merely the immediate nutritional status.

The magnesium and potassium components are immediately water-soluble and enter the root zone with the first watering after application, supporting chlorophyll synthesis, energy metabolism, and structural plant function from the moment of absorption.

Plants and Their Needs

The universal formulation is calibrated to satisfy the core nutritional requirements shared by the widest range of plant types — the sustained nitrogen supply for growth, the potassium for vigour and structural integrity, and the magnesium for chlorophyll production and energy metabolism. It is appropriate for:

  • Houseplants and foliage plants — provides the balanced nutrition for sustained vegetative growth and healthy, deep green foliage throughout the growing season
  • Garden borders and perennial beds — supports consistent growth and flowering in established plantings without the risk of over-stimulation
  • Container plants of all types — replenishes the nutrients that leach from containers with each watering, maintaining consistent fertility throughout the season
  • Vegetables and edible crops — the organic formulation is safe for use on all edible plants; the amino acid nitrogen is fully biodegradable and leaves no residue
  • Seedlings and young plants — the gentle amino acid nutrition is safe for recently germinated seedlings and young transplants that would be harmed by conventional mineral fertilisers

How to Use

Dilute 40 ml of concentrate per 1 litre of water. Mix thoroughly before application. Apply to moist soil or substrate — never apply to dry roots. Apply as a soil drench directly to the root zone, or as a foliar spray to the leaf surface for faster uptake.

Application method Dilution Frequency
Soil drench (watering in) 40 ml per 1 L water Every 1–2 weeks during the active growing season (spring through autumn)
Foliar spray 40 ml per 1 L water Every 2 weeks; apply in the morning or evening, not in full sun
Seedlings and young plants 20 ml per 1 L water (half strength) Every 2 weeks until established

Do not exceed the recommended dilution. Higher concentrations do not accelerate growth and may cause unnecessary loading of the soil environment.

Precautions

Dr.Soil Universal Organic Fertiliser is classified as non-hazardous under EU Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP). It is non-flammable and non-explosive. Store in the original sealed bottle between 5°C and 30°C, away from children. Avoid prolonged skin contact; wash hands after use. Avoid contact with eyes — if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with clean water. Do not ingest. Do not allow to enter drains or surface watercourses.
