Dr.Soil Organic Fertiliser for Flowering Plants — Liquid, 1 L

A liquid organic fertiliser formulated specifically for the nutritional demands of flowering plants — combining hydrolysed proteins, potassium salts, and a boron-amino acid complex to support prolific flowering, extended bloom periods, and the structural vigour that keeps flowering plants performing season after season. pH 6.5–8.5. Supplied in a bottle made from ISCC PLUS certified plastic — free from fossil petroleum content.

How It Is Formulated

Dr.Soil Organic Fertiliser for Flowering Plants is built on a foundation of hydrolysed proteins — plant-derived proteins enzymatically broken down into free amino acids that are absorbed directly by root cells and leaf surfaces. Amino acids are the building blocks of every enzyme and structural protein in the plant, and when delivered in free form they are used immediately in the physiological processes that drive flowering: the synthesis of floral pigments, the production of pollen and nectar, and the structural development of petals, sepals, and flower stalks.

To this amino acid base the formulation adds potassium salts and an organic boron complex (orthoboric acid compounded with aminoethanol). Potassium controls the movement of sugars from photosynthetically active leaves to developing flower buds — the process that determines whether a bud becomes a full, well-formed flower or aborts. Boron is a micronutrient with a disproportionately large role in flowering: it is essential for pollen germination, pollen tube growth, and the movement of sugars to reproductive tissues. Boron deficiency is among the most common causes of poor flowering and poor fruit set in ornamental and productive plants alike. Compounded with aminoethanols, the boron in this formulation is in an organic, chelated form that crosses the cell membrane more readily than inorganic boron sources.

The broad pH range of 6.5–8.5 means this fertiliser is compatible with a wide variety of flowering species across their natural pH preferences, from mildly acidic to alkaline-tolerant varieties.

About the ISCC PLUS Certified Bottle

The bottle is produced from plastic certified to the ISCC PLUS standard (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) — an independently audited European certification that guarantees the plastic is derived from renewable or recycled feedstocks rather than fossil petroleum. It contains no virgin fossil-derived plastic content. Chain-of-custody traceability is verified at every stage of production.

How It Works

The fertiliser works through the direct delivery of the three nutritional elements that flowering plants require in greatest quantity at the critical transition from vegetative growth to reproductive development:

  • Amino acid nitrogen — absorbed directly without microbial conversion; immediately available for the synthesis of floral enzymes and structural proteins that support flower development from bud initiation through to full bloom
  • Potassium — activates the phloem transport system that moves photosynthates (sugars) to developing buds; controls stomatal function and water use efficiency during the energetically demanding flowering period; improves the firmness and longevity of flowers
  • Organic boron — directly supports pollen viability, pollen tube elongation, and the sugar transport to reproductive tissues; the organic amino acid complex ensures rapid cellular uptake that inorganic boron salts cannot achieve

Plants and Their Needs

This formulation is designed for all flowering ornamentals grown in containers and garden beds: roses, hydrangeas, dahlias, geraniums, petunias, fuchsias, begonias, impatiens, pansies, verbena, lavender, chrysanthemums, camellias, rhododendrons, wisteria, clematis, and all other flowering shrubs, perennials, and annuals.

What Flowering Plants Need Most

  • Prolific and sustained blooming — flowering plants invest significant energy in flower production; consistent potassium and amino acid supply ensures that energy is available throughout the bloom period rather than peaking early and declining
  • Strong floral structure — well-fed flowers hold their form, colour, and fragrance for longer; potassium contributes directly to the turgor pressure that keeps petals firm and upright
  • Successful pollination and fruit set — for flowering plants grown for fruit or seed production, the boron component directly supports pollen germination and fertilisation
  • Repeat flowering — plants that reflower or have multiple flush cycles depend on consistent nutrition to recover between flushes; regular applications of this fertiliser support the rapid vegetative recovery between flowering cycles

How to Use

Dilute 40 ml of concentrate per 1 litre of water. Mix thoroughly. Apply to moist soil or substrate — never to dry roots. Apply as a soil drench to the root zone, or as a dilute foliar spray directly to leaves and flower buds for faster uptake during peak demand.

Application Dilution Frequency
Soil drench 40 ml per 1 L water Every 1–2 weeks from first bud formation through end of flowering
Foliar spray 40 ml per 1 L water Every 2 weeks; apply in morning or evening, never in full midday sun
Pre-flowering preparation 40 ml per 1 L water Begin 2–3 weeks before the expected flowering period to build reserves

Precautions

Classified as non-hazardous under EU Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP). Non-flammable and non-explosive. Store in the original sealed bottle between 5°C and 25°C, away from children. Avoid prolonged skin contact; wash hands after use. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse thoroughly with clean water. Do not ingest. Do not allow to enter drains or surface watercourses.
