Dr.Soil Flower Booster — Flowering Stimulation Biostimulant, Ready to Use, 1 L

A ready-to-use foliar biostimulant formulated from boron, plant amino acids, fulvic acids, humic acids, and macro and micro elements — designed to stimulate the development of new flowering branches, buds, and flowers, whilst extending the duration of flowering and intensifying floral fragrance. No overdose risk. Effective year-round on all flowering houseplants and garden flowers.

How It Is Formulated

Flower Booster is the only formulation in the Dr.Soil biostimulant range that places boron as the lead active component — a deliberate formulation decision that reflects the fundamental role boron plays in every stage of flower development, from bud initiation through pollen germination to fruit set. This is combined with the organic acid and amino acid system that underpins the entire Dr.Soil biostimulant range, creating a product that simultaneously drives flowering physiology at the hormonal level and supports it at the nutritional level.

Boron (CAS 7440-42-8) is unique among plant micronutrients in its direct involvement in reproductive development. It is essential for the synthesis of pollen tube wall components, for the germination of pollen grains on the stigma, for the elongation of pollen tubes towards the ovule, and for the production of the boron-rhamnogalacturonan II complex that is a structural component of all cell walls in rapidly dividing tissue — including the cells of developing flower buds. Boron also regulates the transport of sugars from leaves to developing floral tissue through the phloem, determining how much photosynthate is delivered to flowers rather than retained in vegetative structures. Boron deficiency is one of the most common and most frequently unrecognised causes of poor flowering, bud drop, and reduced fragrance in ornamental plants. Delivered as a ready-to-use foliar spray, boron reaches the developing floral tissue directly without the soil chemistry interactions that can render boron unavailable in certain growing media.

Plant amino acids (CAS 65072-01-7) provide the building blocks for the biosynthesis of the aromatic compounds that give flowers their fragrance. Rose scent, jasmine fragrance, and the characteristic aromas of all scented flowers are synthesised from amino acid precursors — primarily L-phenylalanine for phenylpropanoid-derived fragrances and L-leucine for terpenoid fragrances. Delivering free amino acids directly to floral tissue by foliar spray provides the immediate substrate for fragrance synthesis in a way that soil-applied nitrogen cannot replicate with the same speed or specificity.

Fulvic acids (CAS 479-66-3) carry the boron and amino acids directly into plant cells through the leaf cuticle, ensuring rapid cellular uptake. They also support the sugar transport mechanisms in phloem loading, reinforcing the sugar delivery to flowers that boron initiates.

Humic acids (CAS 1415-93-6) stimulate cytokinin production — the class of plant hormones most directly responsible for the initiation of flower buds and the transition from vegetative to reproductive growth. They extend the retention of flowers and delay senescence (petal fall), contributing directly to the prolonged flowering duration that Flower Booster is formulated to deliver.

Macro and micro elements supply the mineral support for the entire flowering cycle, ensuring that the nutritional environment around floral development is complete and balanced throughout the application period.

How It Works

  • Boron for pollen and structural flower development — delivered directly to developing floral tissue; supports pollen tube growth and successful fertilisation; ensures the structural integrity of developing petals and flower organs; promotes the phloem transport of sugars that fuels floral development
  • Amino acids for fragrance biosynthesis — the L-amino acid precursors of floral aromatic compounds are delivered directly to the tissue that synthesises them; more precursor means more fragrance production, producing flowers with notably more intense scent
  • Cytokinin induction via humic acids — stimulates the bud initiation signals that trigger new flowering branches and the development of secondary flower buds alongside the primary bud; the result is visible as higher bud count and more branched inflorescences
  • Microelement support via fulvic acid delivery — the trace elements required by the enzyme systems of flavonoid and anthocyanin biosynthesis (responsible for flower colour) are delivered directly to floral tissue, supporting the full expression of floral pigmentation
  • Extended bloom duration via senescence delay — the cytokinin and fulvic acid components delay the hormonal signals that trigger petal abscission and flower senescence; flowers that might last 5 days in untreated conditions last measurably longer under regular Flower Booster application

Plants and Their Needs

Flower Booster is designed for all flowering houseplants and all flowering plants grown in pots or garden beds: roses, orchids, African violets, anthuriums, bromeliads, peace lilies, geraniums, begonias, impatiens, cyclamens, kalanchoe, hydrangeas, jasmine, gardenia, hibiscus, bougainvillea, and all other plants grown primarily for their flowers.

What Flowering Plants Need Most

  • Prolific bud set — the number of flowers a plant produces is determined at the bud initiation stage, weeks before flowers open; regular Flower Booster application during the vegetative phase immediately preceding the flowering period maximises the number of buds initiated
  • Full flower development — bud drop before opening is often a symptom of boron deficiency or insufficient sugar transport to developing buds; Flower Booster addresses both causes directly
  • Intense fragrance — the aromatic compound content of scented flowers is directly influenced by amino acid availability in floral tissue; Flower Booster’s amino acid component supports the highest possible fragrance expression in scented varieties
  • Extended bloom period — the economic and aesthetic value of flowering plants is maximised when blooms last as long as possible; the senescence-delaying properties of the cytokinin-stimulating components extend the display period measurably
  • Repeat flowering in long-season varieties — for plants that flower in multiple flushes through the season, Flower Booster applied between flushes supports the rapid accumulation of the carbohydrate and hormonal reserves needed for the next cycle

How to Use

Flower Booster is ready to use directly from the bottle — no dilution required. Shake well before use. Apply by foliar spray directly onto leaves, stems, and developing buds. Also spray periodically around the base of the plant directly onto the soil surface. Can be used year-round without restriction.

Plant type Method Frequency
Flowering houseplants Foliar spray directly onto leaves and buds; also spray around the base of the stem onto the soil surface Periodically year-round; increase to twice weekly as flowering approaches and during the bloom period
Garden flowers in pots or beds Foliar spray directly onto leaves and buds; in summer and winter also spray at the base of the plant, directly onto the soil Twice weekly (e.g. Monday and Friday) through spring and autumn; continue through summer and winter with soil-base application added

Begin applications 2–3 weeks before the expected flowering period to ensure that boron and amino acid reserves are fully built up in floral tissue before bud development begins. The solution does not attack plant cells in any way — there is no risk of overdose.

The 10 ml Single-Dose Format

Flower Booster is also available in a 10 ml single-dose sachet using the V-Shape packaging system — a precision format designed for exact, waste-free dosing. Each 10 ml sachet mixes with exactly 1 litre of water to produce a ready-to-spray solution. The V-Shape design ensures complete emptying without waste. Ideal for targeted treatment of a single plant at the critical pre-flowering moment, or for trial use.

Precautions

Flower Booster is not classified as hazardous. All ingredients are of plant origin or are naturally occurring mineral elements. Shake well before use. Do not exceed the application dose. Store in original packaging at 5–20°C away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children. Wash hands after use. Do not consume. Do not allow to enter drains or watercourses.
